He had been chased out of the herd, though the herd and the loner were friendly enough when they met. Maya turned her head back to the grass, and nibbled on some, twitching her ears to make sure that there were no unpleasant surprises. Raui looked up from the grass, trotting over to his mate. Is everything good? he asked, flicking his tail. Raui tossed his head in Aurora's direction. She likes our son, Emerson. I believe she is thinking of taking him as a mate. Maya looked up, wondering what her mate's problem was. Emerson was of a good stock, handsome, strong, and clever. She approved Aurora taking him on as a mate...or at least having a foal with him. I don't see your problem, said Maya. I approve, why shouldn't you? Raui turned his back on his mate and trotted off. Maya flicked her tail in amusement.
