She hates that everyone around her seems to live up to that notion as well, especially her own leader (though mind you she would never say that out loud). She would much rather the clan be known for bravery and confidence, she thinks that maybe if elmclan wasn't seen as cowards that her own clanmates wouldn't live up to the name.

But don't give this fiercely independent she-cat the option, because she would actually do it.

if kestrelpelt was a council member and more specifically the camp organizer, then she knows exactly what change she’ll bring. her clan always ventures between two camps depending on seasons. each time the unused camp has to be cleared within a day delaying any duties for until it’s finished. so, for kestrelpelt’s change, it’ll be setting up patrols to go through and clear out and repair dens before the clan arrives. she’ll set up a time for the clan to move to ensure everything is done in a timely fashion. organization is what she seeks for it and what she’ll get for her change as a council member.

"rules, rules, rules! i'm up to my ears in rules! i'm so tired of everything being so pomp and circumstance around here. haven't these old buzzards ever heard of having fun?" kitecloud was off on another one of her rants. this time, with no foreseeable end and her friends, garlicfoot and wolfstep the unfortunate audience. they shared a glance between each other, rolling their eyes in unison. they were luckily used to kitecloud's passionate speeches.

kitecloud continued without a pause. "if i were leader, my first line of order would be no order! everyone would get to do whatever they want, whenever they want." to cement her statement, she stomped a paw on the ground and lashed her tail, reminiscent of a kit not getting their way. these outbursts were getting more and more common.

wolfstep interjected with a chuckle, "so you're talking about living like rogues."

it was her turn to roll her eyes. with a huff, she shook her head. "no, of course not, loon-brain. i'm just talking about getting rid of all these ridiculous rules. like, why shouldn't we be able to just come and go?" she flexed her claws in the sandy earth. "i get restless, sitting here just waiting for the next patrol to come around. there's more to the world out there than what's inside our territory, y'know," she added hastily.

garlicfoot gave her an apprehensive look, whiskers pulled back in a frown. "you're talking about being a wanderer, kitecloud. do you really want to leave briarclan?"

kitecloud was exasperated now, her temper running hot as each thing she said was taken out of context. "no, i love briarclan! you guys just don't understand." she rose to her feet, her tail lashing back and forth. "i'd be a great leader, anyways. no rules, forever! you'll see, when yewstar appoints me as back-up deputy i'll convince him to change those stupid rules!"
