As you might be able to see here, it's the (Indian) Lotus that Pancratius favors. He once tried eating one, it didn't taste too bad but it looks way too pretty to get eaten, don't you think?
Pancratius wants me to tell you more about the Lotus, so here we go, tried to summarize a bit but I got a bit carried away, I guess:
Lotus flowers are very 'smart' and useful plants, not to mention pretty. Ever heard of the lotus effect? Yes, it is named after the lotus flower, which gave us humans the idea of inventing something similar. Some of you might know about the effect the lotus flower uses: For example, if the lotus effect is working, it causes water to drip off a surface and take all dirt with it. You see, it's very useful. Another point is that, in some countries, people use parts of the lotus flower for important things. Just to name some examples: Roots and seeds are eatable, the leaves are used for packing. You can make silk out of its stalk and leaves, and many parts of the lotus are used as medicine. But the thing Pancratius finds most fascinating is that the fruit of the lotus, if dried, can be used as a brush for calligraphie-writing!
"Not that it matters to you, but now you know why I like the Lotus. I won't be telling you more, though, this starts to get very personal." *wiggles ears*
Oh yes, we do. Thank you for showing us your favourite flower, Pancratius!
