What to put on the checkout counter...oh! Bob knows exactly what to do here, it seems, based on just how quickly xe ran out the door to grab supplies...

Set upon the counter is a fairly large basket, which contains an absolute boatload of plushies for people's enjoyment, each one having a matching bookmark attached to them with a bit of velcro. Hanging from the handle is a note written fairly clearly with sharpie: Read with me, then maybe take me home! The thought process appears to be pretty straight forward. Visitors can pick up a plushie to take with them around the library during their stay, and if they want they can pay to take it home with them! It's a bit quirky and unusual, but maybe that's just what the library needs to stand out. It'll certainly be a hit with the younger generations of pokemon, at the very least. After all, who doesn't enjoy curling with up something warm and cuddly while they read?

Oliver tapped her paw on her chin as she looked over the blank countertop. Something really was missing here. The rest of the library was coming together; with the funds they gathered as well as the window repaired. What did most libraries even have? She was wracking her brain to come up with any ideas when a lightbulb went off over her head.

The Flareon scurried off and back to the guild, quickly explaining the situation to some of the other Pokemon she regularly worked with. They agreed excitedly and set her up with a cart of plants. Her tail was waving in excitement as she hurried back into the library and set the plants up; tall leafy ones on either side of the desk as well as a few small flowering ones lined up to brighten the room up more and bring in more colors. Oliver had ensured that each of them would do well with the lighting that they'd be getting and set them up with automatic watering that would keep them from drying out.

"Uh, how am I exactly supposed to help?" Teddy asked confusedly, looking around curiously.

"Weeell, well, you're a plushie, so..." Kougra thought through the logic in her head, "so you can make some plushies for the library, right?"

Teddy let out a hearty chuckle. "Well... not really, kiddo, but I think I know who might be able to."

Cappel definitely had a time trying to keep up with all the hustle and bustle, having no arms and all! He and a couple of friends sewed like mad to make complementary plushies and clothing for the library. Was it that fitting for a front desk attraction? No, not really, but... it was certainly popular! They sold out fast and made all the work worth it, and soon every pokemon around was sporting a cool library sweater or a Gerald plush. Now to see if that actually helps...

Several days later saw the library's bookshelves fully stocked. No longer was the building an empty, echoing edifice; a shell of its former self! No, it was now stuffed to the seams by the printed word - books in all sizes, colours, and lengths that had been written on every subject imaginable - and It made Baffle's heart swell with joy to know that he'd had a hand in it! There's no such thing as a banned book in Delain. The library contained Cook books and fix-it books, romance and westerns. Histories and sci-fy, high fantasy and biographies! All existing together under one roof, for one purpose: to feed the curious minds of the masses! Every last book had been categorized, catalogued, and thoroughly thumbed by the volunteers. Baffle wasn't working alone, of course - there were plenty of other Pokemon lending a hand/paw/claw/tentacle/wing to the project, and the Mimothim found himself enjoying the whole thing more and more with every passing hour. He'd made many new friends here! And he'd gained several excellent suggestions for future reads.

But no he'd been put on decoration duty, and the Mimothim had little to no idea what to do. His talents didn't.... really lie in that direction. So he dawdled. He opened every box he'd been given (all items donated by the community for the Library to use), looked at every object, and put them into little categorized piles. Then, when he was done with that, he looked at the stuff, idly squeaked the duck on top of his cane a few times, and wandered off to ask for ideas from other Pokemon.

In the end he set up a display of bookmarks on the front desk, right next to the library's main computer. The bookmarks were hung from little pegs so you could easily filp through them, and Baffle figured they;d make a good thing to sell to patrons. He knew he personally could always use more bookmarks! On the other side of the desk he arranged a display of 'featured books' - things he liked, things the other volunteers had picked out, things the librarian themselves had recommended. This way folks who had no idea what to check out may find a new favorite book at a glance! He also spread around a few rugs, hung up a few posters, and added a clock to the wall behind the desk. He felt the clock was especially important - he ALWAYS lost track of time while reading!

Milk happily clapped at the news of a new author reaching out, floating around in circles happily. Oh they need help with a book cover? Look no further milk is on the case! Milk floated around the library for a bit, looking for something that they could use to make a book cover for the new author, before they stopped up at the stained glass window, a smile appearing on their face as they happily clapped. That'll do it, the stain glassed window would be perfect for a book cover! Milk floated over, writing a letter back to the author, about how they could use a stain glass window as a cover! The book cover could be designed to look like a big heart, surrounded by little hearts, with roses and other plants surrounding it!

Splot's eyes widen as the new author reached out to her to design a cover for a book, Splot couldn't believe her ears! This was an opportunity that She was waiting for. The author said go crazy with the word: "mementos" Splot picked up her paint brush and grinned, getting out her paints in record time. First... a light blue base. The Splot started to paint a collage..A few of the items on the painting... pins, a tea mug, a mask. Splot was having the time of her life! Before she knew it, it was finished... A painting of various items all on a light blue background. She sent in to the new author and hoped that the author loved it enough to put on the cover of the new book!

Pascal could hardly keep still at the prospect of designing the cover of a book. He had always dreamed of being known for his art or adventuring someday and this would be such a good start! The story seemed to be more of a romance based horror; perfect for the current holiday when both you and your partner are more fans of halloween as well!

He broke out his best paints and supplies and set to work immediately upon getting the okay on a sketch. The cover featured dark colors with hints of purples and red. Pinks and whites were used to draw attention to the main character; an Espeon who stood amidst the dark forest looking quite fearful. Her tail was wrapped close to herself as though trying to soothe her anxieties while, hidden from her view in the foliage, rings of yellow shone. Red eyes has fixed themself on the lone Pokemon and she was painfully unaware of the danger that lurked where she dared not look. Pascal let himself smile softly, however, knowing that the Umbreon was just a misunderstood lady who was driven out for false accusation. The two would find comfort in the other's companies by the end and, to hint towards this, on what was to be the back cover he painted two sets of pawprints leading into the woods.

He just hoped the final product would be good enough.
