Valderra horses were created in west-coastal Canada in the early 1880s, importing in various draft breeds until they'd made their perfect mix of height, stout, and weight for ideal working horses. With less need for horses due to technological advancements, a breeding facility has been working on incorporating other breeds to allow for a variety of color, and slightly different builds while keeping that same draft elegance, allowing the breed to expand its horizons and make its way into many new jobs across the world. They typically stay on the taller side, ranging from 17hh-19hh, but occasionally will have some height outliers due to newer breed inclusions. They make for wonderful heavy-lifters, or even a sturdy trail companion, no matter the conditions.

These drafts are known for their character and personality even moreso than their all-around workability. They bring a certain charm to whatever their environment may be, and are easily identifiable among a crowd. Nowadays, Valderra Peak offers quality imports for adopters, as well as various events at the official Valderra Peak Farm, allowing owners to get involved in building the breed and familiarizing themselves with the breeds' home origin.

1. All CS rules apply to all threads and on discord.

2. Valderra Peak is a closed species. Only permitted artists/staff may create designs on these lines. They may be shared elsewhere with proper artist crediting and linking back to the main page.

3. There is no current limit to how many drafts you may own. An updated barn/storage page must be in place for any horses used for breeding, training, competitions, and trail rides. This includes a haltered ref, proper links, updated stats and slots, etc.

4. Items and smaller edits are allowed, but major changes are not. Until a full list is decided on, please contact myself [tenturo] to confirm if an edit is permissible.

5. Customs are intended to be free, however artists may allow a paid option to offer prioritization. Anything concerning offsite currency should be discussed offsite. Trading/selling customs is allowed, if they were paid then base price should be the same. Freely obtained drafts cannot be sold, but can be traded. Any purchased art can be added in at owners discrepancy.

6. Please be respectful of all members and staff when interacting on the threads and on discord. We have a zero tolerance policy for any hate speech, racism, transphobia/homophobia, etc. Political/religious discussion is permitted if it comes up, but please be mindful that others may have differing views.

7. Please do not bump threads that need updates [halters, etc.] I will be monitoring them - if a draft hasn't been updated for a month or more, please PM me with "Valderra" somewhere in the title and I will get it handled.

8. Trades and sales should be updated on the trade thread, including permission from both parties. Any forms missing any information are subject to not be approved and invalid until corrected.

9. If a user is banned from the species itself or the site, their drafts are subject to re-adoption through the community. Handling these will be further evaluated if the need ever arises.

10. Regular members are permitted one custom per month, and artists are given two. These do not have to be used immediately. If you didn't claim one for February, you may claim it in March alongside your March custom - however, you may not use your March custom during the month of February.

Valderra Peak Drafts will all come with a set of base stats, with a current maximum of 100 points per stat. This maximum is subject to change or be removed later on, depending on how far training and competitions end up going. The starting range for regular adopts is between 0 and 25, with a 20% chance of an outlier applying, which would grant one stat to be in a 0-45 range. In the training center, you can choose up to 5 horses per week to train. Training will boost each stat, with a range of 1-5 points earned per stat, or you can opt to train only 3 stats for a range of 1-10 points per stat. This excludes confidence, which can only be increased by trail rides. Breeding is currently the best way to obtain a horse with higher base stats. Eventually we intend to add some items that can be used to help utilize training.

Competitions will utilize 3 certain stats per discipline, so if you intend to compete, be mindful of how you train your horses.

The competition hub will contain a more detailed description of which stats each competition type will utilize, as well as how often each type will run, the differing levels based on stat range, and how rankings are determined. It is necessary that your horses have updated stats when entering them into competitions, so that it is ensured they're entering the right competition level.

In the Valderra Peak store, there are two currencies used: Honorable Mentions [HMs] and Cash [$]. Certain items will only be obtainable with one specific currency, and some will be available for both.

HMs are given via artist discretion for adopt forms where they felt they had a close call on choosing a winner, or for a form they feel deserved some extra recognition. Cash can be earned in two ways: prizes in competitions, and by helping out at the official Valderra Peak farm by doing barn chores each week. The chore/trail hub will have a more detailed description of regulations and rewards for doing barn chores. Both cash and HMs will be archived/monitored by staff in the bank, but it is ideal that you try to monitor it yourself incase staff misses something that you should've received.

Items can serve various purposes, such as minor customization, gene changes, boosted breeding chances, etc. Tack can be bought for decor purposes only for the time being, and it is on the buyer to find a Valderra artist who will redeem the tack voucher and add the items to your horses' reference. Later on, we'd like to add variations that can supply small stat bonuses, so Tack may not be available at all until that system is worked out.

Purchases should be made by PM'ing myself [tenturo] or the Bank Archivist [tbd] with what you'd like to buy, the total cost, and proof of sufficient funds [an updated screenshot of the bank will suffice.]

We are currently looking for an archivist [or multiple].
Archivist responsibilities include:
Archiving all main adopts, foals, and customs. claimed
Archiving a barn/storage list for all members.
Archiving all items, HMs, and cash for all members.
- Making note of trades, gifts, sales, etc. and adjust archives accordingly.

Again, these responsibilities can be divided up between multiple archivists if applicants do not wish to maintain all of them, as I know it is a lot to keep track of. Ideally everything should be updated in a timely manner - if you feel like you're falling behind or will be unavailable, please PM me immediately so I can arrange something to keep track of things in the meantime. Stipulations as a thank you for your work for us can be discussed, as well as general guidelines for what's needed.

We are currently considering a competition/training coordinator. This is not a necessary position, so the ideal applicant for one/either should be willing to take on all responsibilities necessary for each area.

Competition Coordinator Responsibilities
These are still in the development stage, so your input would be valued. Ideally, you'd be responsible for rolling all entrants for each competition at whichever day you decide is most ideal for you to roll them all on each week. Since this is still in heavy development, I dont have all the details hashed out on how this would be done, but is subject to have specifics for all rolling. This will likely entail many competitions to be rolled, as I'm interested in having multiple disciplines and multiple levels per discipline based on stat ranges.

Training Coordinator Responsibilities
Our training center is a bit more simplified than our competitions will likely be. Once a week on a day of your choosing [must be the same day each week], you'll go through all forms for that week and use rng to decide how many points each horse has earned per stat. This could still be a lot of rolling and information to do, so again be prepared for a potentially time-consuming activity.

Again, neither of these are necessary positions as I don't mind running them myself, but if someone has real interest in running one of them, please don't hesitate to reach out. I won't have a set form for this since they're still in development stages, however if you do wish to apply, please include 'Valderra' somewhere in your pm title.
