A B O U TSpecies and PlanetFluffy Bois [Crinitus circum] are an omnivorous species living on their own planet that has no comprehensive name. Every plant there lives off of a similar organelle to chloroplasts, but it's a reddish pastel pink instead of green, leaving the plants the same colour. The plants emit a gas called anapnaeras [uh-NAP-nuh-rase], literally meaning "breathe air." This is what Fluffy Bois breathe [and organisms from Earth cannot], meaning they cannot survive on Earth without special masks or breathing apparatus [or even, sometimes, a dome that mocks their home planet] canonically, but this is flexible, so feel free to mess around with the idea for non-canonical art.
Fluffy Bois are generally relatively thin built under their fur,
as seen in this character, but due to the extremely cold climate of their planet, are forced to have the thick, long, fluffy fur they are named for. If any Fluffy Bois are born with the gene for no fur, it is extremely rare that they survive, unless put into a different, warmer environment.
Due to the cold climate of the entire planet, it's almost always covered in snow, not allowing many grass-like plants to grow through. The pink plants that do grow, however, [such as trees, shrubbery, etc] thrive in the cold.
Despite their appearance, Fluffy Bois are extremely smart, and have built a society similar to Earthlings on their dwarf planet just within the Solar System.
The water in the oceans of their planet appear yellow, due to the minerals in them. Despite this, the water is 100% safe for them to drink [due to being completely immunized to any dangerous things in it over time], and they seem to even prefer it over purified water. In small amounts, the water still appears clear, similar to blue oceans and clear water on Earth.
The density of anapnaeras, as well as the general atmosphere of the planet, allows for Fluffy Bois to survive with strange mutations that do not effect their ability to survive, being the dominant species on their planet. These rare features include, but are not limited to, wings, glowing parts, differently shaped pawpads, smoke glands in the eyes, curly fur, floating objects that follow them, glands or pores that emit "elemental" features [such as fire in place of their tail], pores that emit shaped particles, transparent, "jello"-like sections of the body, exposed bone, or multiple limbs.
Fluffy Bois can reproduce "normally," but typically reproduce asexually. All Fluffy Bois are hermaphrodites, but can identify as more masculine or feminine as they choose. Asexual reproduction happens through budding, like many aquatic animals on Earth, but the "bud" comes off after a small ball of fur has been formed. The head of the Fluffball is formed in the location they were attached to their parent, their limbs being formed in the appropriate places afterwards. In the first few months of Fluffy Bois' lives, they are easily comparable to fluffy worms, almost like larvae. To "legally reproduce", a Fluffy Boi, or set of Fluffy Bois, must gain approval through their Emperor and/or Empress.
SocietyFluffy Bois have built a society similar to Earthlings in its arrangement, with a large, central city on the dwarf planet, surrounded by several, smaller communities throughout the entire planet that are all governed under the
Emperor and
Empress, as well as some co-rulers, comparable to an oligarchy. The entire planet is relatively easily traversible, almost every continent being connected in some way. If the conteninents aren't connected, Fluffy Bois have formed boats they can use to cross the relatively small bodies of water separating the continents. Few communities reside on the "back side" of the planet, opposite to the capital. All Fluffy Bois have some form of communication with their rulers, be it physically going to the capital, or writing to them. Fluffy Bois do not have any form of advanced technology, such as phones or computers. They seem to have not yet gone through an industrial or technological revolution, however, some scientists on the planet are slowly discovering more and more, their research not yet being widespread. The planet is being studied by Earthlings to observe if there is an industrial revolution within the society.
Fluffy Bois are a peaceful species among themselves, refusing to go to war with each other. This is reasonable, due to the fact that they all live in one, big society. They do, however, hunt for food and keep local species as pets.
UniverseThe Solar System of Fluffy Bois is similar to the real Solar System, with all the same planets, aside from the fact that there is a pink, yellow, and white dwarf planet slightly farther away from the sun than Earth. Earth is inhabited by anthropomorphic animals, normal animals, and, of course, humans. There is some, but not much, segregation between anthropomorphic animals and humans, being a common debate on Earth in this universe.
