She didn't think that there really was somewhere to fit in. She had been wandering for a long time. Always forced to move on when she was no longer welcomed. She stayed near cities, on the outskirts and the suburbs, as she was accustomed to them but eventually the other cats around chased her out and from there the only road for her to follow was north. So far north in fact, that now there was nothing but trees and mountains, not a building or human in sight. It was so different from what she was used to that it left her feeling anxious and alone. But before long, a group of mountain cats came in and swept her off her paws. Taking her in and accepting her into their lives and inviting her to stay if she wanted, and oh did she want to. So she did. Harestep has been living on cloud nine ever since.
