Likewise, they have similar senses to their canine cousins, with a keen sense of smell and hearing, but unlike dogs and wolves, can see in full colour. Their vision is slightly tinted in the colour of their iris. This can be quite confusing for Yerin with one blue iris and one red iris. They travel most often in pairs, although groups of up to eight have been seen. These groups are called "sacks" and are led by the most dominant Yerin and their partner of the time. Partners will typically remain mates for up to five years before moving on, although they usually retain a strong bond like those of very close friends. Yerin of any gender may mate and produce offspring provided they aren't related.Yerin live almost anywhere, with adaptations such as longer fur appearing on those in colder climates, and shorter plumes on those nearer the equator. They tend to stay away from water and sand, as their form makes swimming quite a challenge.Their most notable features are the large plumes that grow from their shoulders, and they are able to fan these out into a kind of collar if and when they want to, often to make themselves look bigger. These feathers grow in symmetrical pairs either side and usually form in twos or fours. These feathers serve no obvious practical purpose, but it has been observed that Yerin make use of them like blankets during colder times of the year. These plumes tend to be a brighter colour than the base coat of the Yerin, but there are a few exceptions every now and again.
Another trait is the thin, whip-like tail with what appears to be coins on them. Not much is known about this appendage or its practical purpose. Only that the coins are always metallic.
The lantern that Yerin carry vary in shape, the majority carrying the simple, ovular one bearing resemblance to those associated with Asian culture. However, they can be any shape imaginable, but usually stay small enough to carry in the Yerin's mouth. These lanterns are a Yerin's most prized possession, and a Yerin with a lost or destroyed lantern will become a shade of their former selves. They lose the will to live, and will often fade away into non-existence.
Finally, the giant claws on the Yerin's back paws. These are used both offensively and defensively, and sacks often ambush prey from above, landing on them and clawing them to death. Typical prey is formed up of small animals and birds if Yerin are lucky enough to catch them. They are omnivorous, and many take a large liking to the sweetness of wild berries.Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua.
