-- basic info --
sepheria's also called sepherius canis are a canid-based species
carrying different varying tails. in a pack hierarchy the sepheria
with the long poof for a tail is called the leader. while a sephera
with a medium poof for a tail is usually a hunter. a sepheria with
a bob poof for a tail is called a scout, and a rat tailed sepheria is
a healer/shaman.
-- basic genetics --
all sepheria's carry genotypes for all tails other than their own, so
2 long poof tailed sepherias can have a bob poof mutation sepheria
pup,, or even any other tail type neither parent started with. some
sepheria's are known to get completely new tail types that have not
been documented yet. those are extremely rare.
-- basic behavior --
sepheria's are a domesticated species, meaning they can get along
with humans, and are able to be comfortable being pets. while this
is not a need for them, it can be done. sepherias are generally quiet
and stick to their own packs, some have been known to break way
and seek out a new pack to start a new life. seph's are a pack species
by nature, but can do fairly decently in a solo environment.
-- basic diet --
sepherias are a carnivorous species, that dines on both lean and fatty
meats. most commonly they dine on rabbit, deer, voles, birds and fish.
they rarely seek out large prey like moose or bear, but in a larger pack
of 8 or more, it is more common. fish and birds are a rare meal, most
finding them difficult to catch. salmon, ducks, and goose are the ones
they tend to catch. one sepheria must consume atleast 50 pounds of
meat per day or more, or run the risk of malnourishment. if food is low
it is not uncommon for them to eat carrion, old carcasses, and bones.
