Standard: No mutations.
Common: Hair above the shoulders, claws/fangs showing, different eye shape, colored sclera, scale patches, feline tongue, whiskers.
Uncommon: Hair above the waist, longer/shorter fur, curly fur, different tail fin, different ears, cheek feathers, manes, non-feline tongue, face tentacles.
Rare: Hair past the waist, horns, different waist fins, extra fins, crystal growths, extra ears, transparent fins.
Mythic: Extra limbs, extra eyes/mouths, extra tails, glowing anything, wings, spines/quills, tentacle arms, octopus tail, jellyfish tail, transparent body parts.
Non-rarity: Different expression, accessories.
Event mutation: Event mutations are only found on mercats from a specific event, or applied to mercats with special event potions. They pass in breeding like rare traits, but can't be used on normal mercats by artists.
Summer event-- Davy Jones tentacle beard, hermit crab shell, glowing angler fish bulb, puffer fish body.

first version of mercats several years ago. They were by far my most successful adopt I ever made (though not nearly as successful as many of the popular adopts today) but after a long while of trying other species I decided to open them again.
Unfortunately, it will be easiest for me if none of the adopts made on the old thread "count" for these mercats. That means you can't breed old mercats with these ones, use them to earn sea glass, etc. You can still roleplay them, draw them, etc as you still own them! Even talk about the old days on the fanclub if you want. c: But it would be too chaotic for me to try and get all the old adopts into the archive, figure out rarities for their edits, etc.
