herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.

Hey syyyddd - I was wondering if we'd be able to also buy art of our thoroughbreds? Does it count towards the final winner? Thought I'd ask :)

Personally, I do not feel that purchased art should count in determining the final winner. I think that it could possibly create an advantage for those who have the most pets (or alternative means of payment) to pay for artwork? It could lead to the competition's medal places going to those who are willing to buy the most, which is particularly unfair on newer users. Also, it may create a lack of effort from those who buy art, simply because they are able to buy art instead of creating it. I'm not suggesting that this latter scenario will occur, but the I believe that the first is likely to. This is only my opinion, but I would like to say it before a definite answer is given.

Oh yes I definitely do agree with your points! My main thought was of the users who don't draw. Ie, I draw a hell of a lot & consider myself an experienced artist (drawing for 9 years properly). I feel that maybe it would be nice for other users to be able to add high quality art to their form. Even if it adds only like 5% to the final score or something. Personally I plan on drawing my own art & if there is any good horse artists free getting something from them(even if it doesn't count because art X3 )

Hmmmm... Had to think a lot on this one. Mainly because, well, it's equivalent to having another trainer come in and work with your horse for the competition. It happens a lot, actually -- trainers will come in and work with both horse and rider, so it isn't too far-fetched. I'll allow it, especially for those who simply weren't gifted with that talent or have something wrong with their scanner/Oekaki, but it won't have a huge bearing on the final score. Additionally, art isn't really necessary at all -- if you put just as much work into writing, you'll be fine -- so if you prefer to do your own art and feel like it just isn't as good, that's fine ^^ The winner won't be the one with the most eloquent writing or the one with the prettiest drawings but the one who devoted time, care, and love to their thoroughbreds and really transformed them (realistically). No worries!

That being said, if a form is 90% someone else's work, it isn't going to make it. A horse's retraining should be at least 90% that user's work, and credit must be given to anyone else helping. However, if anyone wants to add some pretty artwork to a page or just indulge on their 3-year-old, I'm not opposed c: Just make sure that you're showing me your effort as well, and don't expect to win first place because you've got 20 pieces of artwork from 15 different artists.

Thanks for the question, Oddly! ^^

I'd just to make the announcement that I have changed my username from HeroHorse to apart. It's only a different name for the same person. My stable pages and the suchlike will be edited to replace HeroHorse with my new username.

On a side note to those who have ordered a dog from Chien Kennels, I haven't forgotten about you. It'll come as soon as possible, but I have real-life stuff which comes first, and some posts that I need to write for Noć's page.

Welcome, Sandy Hoofprints! Glad to have you! ^^

Quick note -- RVEC Thoroughbred Makeover trainers, I've only got four out of seven thoroughbred pages, so please get those to me ASAP! If you haven't made one yet, you'll want to or you'll be at a huge disadvantage! <3
