I was thinking HP and levels. If only battling brings that up, then I don't need to worry yet since I've done no battles.

alrighty, got it. concerning levels, only battling can do that so there is no leveling up involved with throwing poke balls and exploring. your HP however, does get affected. everyday you get 40 HP to start off with, one explore takes up all your HP, but you get an item out of that explore. after you explore once, you cant do anything else for that day, your HP will be refreshed the following day though.

throwing pokeballs can raise your HP by one, so lets say you threw a pokeball one day. instead of having 40 HP for the next day, youd have 41 HP. its not much, but as you get more into it, you could start a day off with 60 HP instead of 40.

Piplup hasn't gained any levels but has gotten +2 HP, making it have 42 HP in total. Thank you so much for the help! I'll be able to keep track of it from now on.
