Address the pound lag + C$ sales transparency

UPDATE 3-15-24: There's an update about the pound! CS making some good updates with the current situation; which is exciting. This post will be re-worded + updated to simply talk about C$ sales transparency

This has been something that's been going on, with the pound and the horrible lag. I know CS is planning on making updates to the pound, but the news was vague to where we don't know they're fixing the lag or redoing the coding on it.

It could be a server problem, but over the last few years; the lag from Dec. 18th has been non-existent, and the site was stable. The lost and found doesn't get this lag either for some strange reason.

Edit: The worst lag was 2023-04-28, 10:28 pm; where the pound lagged so bad it took minutes to even load up a page. It affected the whole site and led to a full-on site crash. Discussion about it starts here

Which begs a few questions:
- Do c$ purchases actually go to server upkeep/upgrades?
- When is the pound update being implemented? 3/15/24; There's been an update! Link
- Is there possible cheating occurring with scripts/auto clickers? (This was brought up a while ago, but never addressed again. Keep in mind this is VERY different than discord pound bot reminders. Discord is not to blame here)
- Any new updates on the pound rehaul? Last news about it was mid-month update in November 2023. Resolved with the 3/15/24 update

Some suggestions:
- Have CS mods/Nick describe more of the pound update, and a estimate time the pound update will be released Addressed by CS, see above
- Have mods address the lag on the front page, and acknowledge the lag + why it's doing it
- Address where the C$ sales is going in a transparency post

When it comes to real life money, I feel that we should know if the purchases are going towards the site and actual improvements. If our funds are going towards server costs, why does it feel so limited/unable to handle common CS features?

Same here. Both on mobile and laptop, the lag ranges from 15 to 30 seconds each time. 150-200 pets are already gone from the pool when i manage to get in.

Yeah, +1 to this. More transparency is always a positive (especially when it comes to things like where people's money is going), and it's honestly almost a bit absurd how the pound makes the site lag more now than when the site was at its peak in terms of active users.

I support the transparency and fixing of lag,

However I would assume that an explanation for the lag would be the sheer number of people all trying to load the page at once. I mean, typically it seems as if ~500 are adopted in the first 30 seconds, meaning hundreds of people are trying to load up the pound page at the same time.

As for the lost and found, I don’t think as many people lie in wait for it as compared to the pound. The lost and found is consistently open for a much longer time than the pound because there are less people who want items. This is probably why the lag does not happen for the lost and found.

But take my words with a grain of salt because I am not even a novice when it comes to software and code or whatever. This is just what I assume is happening.
