security codes/pins when logging in

okay, similar to that of steam, google authenticator etc, how about having to type in a certain security code (which would get sent to our email and would be different each time) when we log in? i know there's a whole different thread for entering pins when accepting trades but i'm thinking it would be more safe to do this when we log in, not just accepting trades.

this way, there would be extra security added on rather than just a password needed to access the account, and would reduce hackers by a large amount.


if people feel as if this would be way too inconvenient to do each time - don’t worry, I have an alternative! how about only if it's from a different ip/location/device than which we normally use CS on?

as in similarly to how Steam works on new logins? if so then HUGE support, as much of a pain as it is, i've never had any issues with getting into my account on my own and i havent had any semblance of being compromised after having my steam account for 9 years so this should be no different. while every time is unnecessary, each new ip should have to input a pin via email like you stated later in your post

even though i think using a different pin (like how discords 2FA works with google authenticator, it generates a new pin every 30 seconds) every time a user logs in from a different device/location would be better and less worrisome.

I personally think 2FA is the better way to go for this but I'll take any added security we can get!!

support! i think this along with 2fa perhaps would be the best course of action! after all, verification and such are common on many other websites and games. also, this method of security codes/pins being used for logging in would be much less tedious than security codes/pins for trades.
