Improve trade information accessibility

I think mods are working on this! I definitely support there being more signposting and easier access to places where you can discuss how CS tends to work trade-wise, get opinions on trades, and understand why trades may be sent or rejected. However, what was already discussed in the thread that's now locked is there will never be any enforcement of values, so I really don't agree with any sort of moderation that tries to turn opinion into fact. These threads could just be a place to share what trades have worked for others in the past and therefore make the point that it's ultimately up to you. If we start to talk about not allowing 'unfair' opinions to be posted (publicly, and therefore without any deception, right?), we just go back to the issue of trying to create one value, which can't happen.

"Unfair opinions" are already disallowed in the threads - this just isn't moderated properly at the moment which was my whole problem with it. Leaving it up to other posters to correct someone posting intentionally incorrect values derails the thread and potentially keeps others from getting help they were trying to ask for.

The thread encourages you to to ask for multiple opinions, and educated advice is not singular fact. If a trade has gone through, and somebody shares that, and they were okay with it, you can't tell them they were wrong about it. I'm absolutely okay with more accessibility to resources, but not with something that starts to disallow discussion of opinions (which are usually within tiny degrees of each other) until only one answer is given, that's all. Linking to threads that explain how CS trades work and therefore showing what people tend to go for is a great idea.

One "stupid" Question...:

I see mentions of "FTT" + "STT"...

I know what "FTT" means (=> the "Fair Trade" Thread), but I don't know and don't see any Link to a "STT" Thread, I reckon "STT" means "Shared Trade Thread"...?

=> After searching in both the 'General' + 'Trades' Sub-Forums, the "closest" I can find is:
- The Good Trade Thread ♥ V2
But the Content doesn't really "feel" like some "Quality Advice"..., => Is this the "correct" Thread, that you all call "STT"...?

(I'll edit my Post with a mini-Thanks if sbd can post a "Confirmation" (or a Link to the "correct" one), to avoid posting again...)

it's a fine question ^^ i do believe the STT in this case is the successful trade thread (though the word shared technically works as well), specifically the successful VR/OMGSR trades. theres also a version of this thread just for C$ trades

Ahh sorry I probably should've clarified somewhere! STT is shorthand for the VR and OMGSR Successful Trades Thread!

Yeah staff have acknowledged the idea, I just created this thread before those things were stated so it's a bit "outdated" ^^'

But this is why I emphasise the importance of teaching users how to navigate these threads and how to do their own research/interpret advice. I am all against creating/enforcing specific values, because the values are so user-driven they're influenced very easily. We just need the general playerbase to understand that so they can make their own decisions.

Full support of this idea, I do think everyone having slightly different ideas on values of pets is okay within reason, and the rules like 1->2->4 works for me (typically what I see) Allowing people to more accurately access these threads which get lost pretty frequently would definitely help many who may not see those threads pop up on the front page, or who were not lucky enough to be directed to such threads.
and I also support the idea of trade mods however, maybe not for trades themselves but watching threads ect like the FTT and STT I think its a bit unreliable and much to ask them to consistently go through trades, another issue is finding people with a decent idea of value and the demand currently circulating would also be a nearly full time job due to how frequently things can raise and drop, so there would probably need to be more of those if they were expected to consistently watch things than the other modding groups, so I feel like the idea can be flawed in the case of how easily changed demand is in a game like this where majority of pets are based off current demand

I do definitely think if we were to have trade-related mods, they'd be more centred around moderating the trade threads. Of course there already exists the means to report bad or low quality advice, but I'm not sure if people report that stuff? Though it is hard to notice unless you're tracking each post and go back to check if it's been removed/edited.

There are rules for giving advice in the FTT, but I'll admit even I don't report many posts in that thread. I think they'd more be moderating things like users stating blatant lies or their advice being two word answers instead of tracking values and stuff. Honestly have no input on the possibility of them moderating individual trades or cases, I can't think of a good way around the topic.
