I agree with Lacuna, and no where does it promote that the point of the site is to get a complete collection. Yes a lot of users aim for that, but I still wouldn't call getting a complete collection 'impossible'. Older users (and others) who do have older store pets will and do trade them. Of course not all of them will, some of them may be aiming for a complete collection too, but you're suggesting that they would never trade them under any circumstance. Some users (like me) don't care about getting a complete collection, and so have no problem trading those pets, others decide to quit, or trade their pets for currency on other sites. Of course its a difficult goal, and as was mentioned, I would still consider a collection complete even if it doesn't include the store pets, because it is reasonable to not try and get those.
Additionally, there are plenty of other sites out there that boast some collection aspects when getting a collection is actually as close to if not entirely impossible. For example, a big site out there, Flight Rising. It has a bestiary that actually tracks all of the familiars you collect, and so a lot of users aim to fill that bestiary and complete it. Except that one of the familiars, the Boolean, was only part of the beta testing, as I recall there were only 50 total, and as such with some being on inactive accounts, etc. a lot of them are inaccessible, and they are so rare at this point its practically impossible to get one (if even possible at all anymore, I don't keep up with FR). My point is, even if a site has collection-type aspects, it doesn't guarantee you can get a full collection, if that is you're aim, you are always free to ask on the site before you get deep into collecting to find out if its viable, and how difficult. There are a lot of sites that make it way more difficult than CS does.
All said, I actually really like how CS approaches the 'full collection' aspect, when store pets were first released the admin came out and said 'you don't need to consider these for a full collection', and just from a business side thats something that can drop your sales, but it shows that CS cares more about the users than making money. Not only that, but all non-store rare+ pets are part of a yearly re-release so the pets don't ever get so rare that getting them is impossible. Making it that much easier to aim for a full collection, a lot of collection sites don't bother with that, it just becomes more and more impossible to get the older things over time. CS actually puts a lot of effort into making a full collection a viable goal for users.
