Suggestion: Remove "Delete this pet" option. POLL ADDED

Not only due to the fact of older pets getting deleted, making them harder and harder to get a hold of, especially since we have so many old rotting accounts with old pets that no one can trade for because the user is no longer active. This just continues to drive up prices of already expensive pets.

But also because I've seen people delete pets out of pure malice. I've seen people delete everything up to a Joker strictly so someone couldn't have it or trade for it. Yes, it's their pet but at the same time they did it purely to hurt someone else. I don't think that should be allowed on a family friendly game. I've also seen people get scammed or hacked of pets that have meaning to them that get deleted. Again, strictly to hurt the user. Sometimes these pets can't be replaced, especially if it has an ID that was important to the user.

Removing the 'delete pets' button won't cause inflation of pets so drastically that it'll be an issue. Inflation happens with time, no matter what we do or don't do. Removing the button won't have a substantial effect on it. Deleting pets probably causes more inflation then removing it would.

Instead of having a 'delete pet' button it should be switched to a 'send to pound' button. Even with very commons/commons, new players might be super happy getting these pets. New players join every day, they should get a chance of getting pets too.

completely agree. don’t even really know why that has been an option in the first place, tbh. as others have suggested, it should def be a “send to pound” button instead.

  deleted pets do not show up in previous trades, as seen here. sending a pet to the pound could still have it show up if you were to look through your trade history.

Support. Like others have stated deleting pets has been used to hurt people before, can be used maliciously, is outdated and no longer fits with the sites mechanics as Tess said herself. People can simply keep their pets on their account if they don’t want someone else to have them or send them to the pound.

I like having the option to delete outcomes of whatever I get because I don't like it.

I would rather the delete option be moved or relocated. Where it is now, I've accidentally hit it (luckily it prompts you asking if you really want to, but still) especially when I'm on my phone. I don't like the "send to pound" replacement either (and I especially do not like the "send to pound immediately") because the same issue would arise with hitting it accidentally on touchscreen devices.

i prefer the option but not removal. easier to delete unwanted pets like my chickens and ponies no one wants to trade for than put them in the pound to slowly rot there.

I see your point, but a friend of mine who started playing recently specifically looks through the pound for chickens, every time. And I’m sure he’s not the only one. So I’m not sure how deletion would be better — both erasing your unwanted pets and letting them rot would mean no one engages with them, but them being moved to the pound could lead to a positive outcome for someone else while deletion leaves no room for that opportunity. I fully support the removal of the deletion button
