*not religious wise, but just... inspired by? I dunno, incarnations of Immortality on the mind.

Pets that go through the phases of how art is generally made - rough sketch, cleaner sketch, clean lines, flat colors, full color, etc. Maybe they could all go through different art phases based on different mediums - water color, acrylic, marker, pencil, etc.

Tea-steeping animals. (I'm partial to bwolves, since I'm always partial to bwolves.) Baby pet has some way to indicate what kind of tea it might be - a tea tag, it's color, whatever. As a second-stage pet, it's clear, like glass, perhaps with tea leaves or a small tea bag inside. Over time, the tea "steeps," and more and more color spreads through the glass. It eventually ages up, and it's a glass container full of tea - possibly even iced tea. Inspired by the potion bwolves and the lantern oil Hanukkah dog.

Autumn leaf pets - start out green and leaf-like, turn into golds, browns, reds, etc.

And some general ideas for cooler weather:
Hot chocolate/marshmallow pets
Christmas tree ornament pets
Pets that are depictions of Santa/his equivalent from other countries.

And a real quick side note - as much as I'd like to see lgbtaq+ pets, I don't think it's a good idea. The spectrum for gender, sexuality, and romantic attraction is just too wide. Someone will feel left out and invalidated.
