Suggestion/Question?

I read and re-read all the FAQ, and didn't see anything about this.
Now I know that it says you won't be making pets based off of TV shows/books/games/movies/etc. But I was wondering, what about items? Also, it says no pets based after stuff, but what about the Alice in Wonderland Store Pets?
Because if items were possible, I was thinking that it would be really cool to have items based off of the trolls in Homestuck. I know people like to dress up the 2010 zodiac dogs like the characters; I know I do, but I find it very hard to find fitting items. Homestuck is pretty popular, and I'm sure Satamoru could even help design; I know she's into Homestuck ^u^

Doesn't change the fact that the jabberwock and cheshire cat are directly based on the originals. I'm not saying omg copyright infringement they should be removed from cs this is blasphemy.
I'm just saying that I feel it's sort of rude to make a pet that is not the artists original idea and sell it for a currency that real money was used to purchase. That's what drove me off a few other pet sites when they started doing things like that.

Like the Eat Me and Drink Me dogs, they were inspired by the concepts of the bottle and cookie that alice ate and drank from. They weren't directly created from the actual bottle and cookie that she ate and drank from. And those are lovely pets that I had no problem buying. But two of the 4 of these are directly based on the creatures from the book. And I know it's not copyright infringement or anything illegal. It just seems rude is all. It's nothing to do with the actual pets either, I don't want to buy them for more reasons that I care to list, primarily I only collect store dogs so I've no need to use my C$ on them. But it's the concept of taking someone else's original idea and selling it.

And again, how is that any different then what Tim Burton did? The Cheshire is exactly identical to the one from the book - minus the color, because the images in the book were black and white. So is the Jabberwocky, for that manner. I'm not saying you have to buy the pets, I'm just a bit confused as to how you can claim selling the designs on CS is rude, but selling the designs in a big motion picture that made millions of dollars isn't.

This is all I can find on the matter, other than the books didn't describe the creatures that Ricorn made, so it's really up to the reader to take the liberty to dream up the creatures with the few things that were described about them in the books. ^^ And same goes for the previous Alice In Wonderland store pets/items, I believe.

And I don't think that Homestuck pets/items/etc will be done - isn't it copyrighted? P: And there'll also be issues with other fandoms asking for Hetalia, Pokemon, Avatar, etc, so it would be pretty unfair if Chickensmoothie just picked one fandom and didn't do all of them.

Next time, please suggest item ideas here.

It doesn't directly have to be based after it; for example, if they made a black wig with a purple streak through it, somewhat like Eridan's, that wouldn't be stealing.

Also, by suggesting this, I'm not saying that Hetalia/MLP/etc. shouldn't be made! It was just an idea xB

I don't support the idea, because if we start making items deliberately made to cater to one fandom, then we'd need to cater to other fandoms as well in order to keep the peace. If an artist wants to release some items or pets inspired by something they are interested in, that's cool, however I don't think it is wise to set out to cater to different fandoms, because it's only going to end badly.
Alice in Wonderland is a classic childhood tale, and releasing items based upon that book isn't quite the same as releasing items relating to a series with a fandom who seem to be constantly involved in arguments and trouble (and I'm not just talking about Homestruck, but also a number of popular fandoms).

I like the idea, but you must realize, not everyone likes homestuck or whatever fandom. For example, i lovetar trek, but most people on CS don't care for it. why should the artist make items for only a percentage of people.

Okay, I understand, Gatoh ^^ It was just an idea, but thank you ^^

But now people are getting mad at me saying that not everyone likes it. There's not a single pet or item on CS that everyone likes, I bet. Like me, the Sunjewl isn't my favorite. There are plenty of people who aren't gonna be happy, no matter what's put up. There's no one thing everyone is going to agree on, I'm just saying. :/
