Suggestion: Suggestion Index

I see so many suggestions that are turned down with something along the lines of, 'Nick has said this will never happen', or 'This has been said before' or 'It's been debated before - there was a lot of support for it and we're sure it's in the works', or whatever else.

So... my suggestion; a Suggestion Index.

The titles of all suggestion threads ever created would be listed, in alphabetical order, linking to the threads. And then, before suggesting anything, you could go to the thread, Cntrl+F the suggestion you want to suggest, and see easily if it'd been suggested before.
Obviously somebody would need to maintain it, but judging by the amount of helpful people on places like the Fair Trade thread, it'd be no problem finding somebody. (I volunteer, if we can't find anybody else )

It would save the suggestor the time and effort of composing a suggestion thread, and others the time and effort of replying explaining why it won't happen or linking to the thread where it's been discussed before, and saves the mods the task of then locking the pointless threads, and basically helps everybody.

For instance, I had an idea the other day about an 'item wishlist'. You can make a pet wishlist - why not an item wishlist? But this seems so blindingly obvious that I'm sure somebody must've suggested it before - and we don't have one, so it must've been turned down. Why? I want to know. It would be really helpful if I could go to a thread like the one I suggest, and just Cntrl+F 'item wishlist', and find the thread, and get the answer easily. Rather than having to go back through all the pages, searching every page seperately until I find it.

So... what do people think?

We already have the FAQ - READ FIRST PLEASE that has a lot of questions already answered. It is stickied to the forum so it's will always be on the first page.
We also have the Search function. You just type in "Item" and then search those posts for "Wishlist" (or the other way around) to find posts already mentioning your idea.

Go count how many times the "How do I make words a link" question or "My pet's items don't show up" pops up on the first three pages of this thread. Both answers are in the FAQ, btw

People tend to not read guides because they feel that their idea is unique and no one has ever thought of it before.
Those who would read guides, either read the guides or use the search function to get their answer.

That's precisely what I mean. People might not check an FAQ because they think their question won't be frequently asked - it's special. But if there was an index of all suggestions, people might think 'I'll just take a quick look there'.

(I didn't even think of using the search function. I always use Cntrl+F but that's tiring because you have to go seperately through each page. I feel like a complete idiot now...)

It won't matter. For example: The POST ALL ADOPTABLE IDEAS HERE! (Read the rules!) thread has a "suggest pets" place and all of the suggested ideas are there, but still get suggested many times.
