Suggestion: CS Games Section

Postby Cellar x Elijah » Thu Jul 19, 2012 12:44 am

Alright, so I didn't know exactly where to put this because, to me, it doesn't seem to fit any of the premade topics. If this needs to be put in one of them, please move it to where it needs to go but I really wanted to suggest this.

So, this morning I had the idea that CS should have a games section, like a lot of sites like this do. You know, just a little something to pass the time when you have nothing else to do on here. That was the main point when I first thought it up because, whenever I get bored, I always have to go somewhere else to play little flash games and stuff. If CS had that section, I wouldn't even have to leave the site or open a new tab. :3

Then came the second part of my idea. On most sites, you play the games to win the free currency for that site. Well, I know CS doesn't have a such thing as that, all it has is C$. But what CS could do is, depending on the player's score, award them a certain amount of "game points", which is what I'll be calling them on here for lack of a better term. The game points would not be tradeable, so they'd be stuck on that player's account. The player could then go to a "rewards" or "prizes" part of the games section and spend whatever game points they have on special pets, and maybe some items for smaller "prizes". The pets and whatever else was there would only be available in the games section, so they couldn't be gotten from anywhere else except through trading.

These "prizes" would be set up in a similar way to store pets in the fact that they change every two months, only, to keep things a little more interesting, my idea would have them change on the opposite months of the store pets so there is something like that changing every month. The admins and other staff could work out what the pets would be like but I would say that the pets would obviously not be as heavily lineart edited as the store pets since no real money would be spent on them (aside from an exception that I'll explain in the next paragraph).

The games would obviously have a daily limit so no players could just keep playing to get endless amounts of those special pets. They -are- "rewards/prizes", after all. I also had the idea that once a player hits the daily plays limit on a game, they could spend a set amount of C$ (I was thinking maybe 5C$) for each play after that if the wanted to keep on playing. With that C$ exception, players could technically keep endlessly playing each day and get a ton of the special pets, but they'd have to spend their real money on C$ to do so, which would bring more money to the C$ admins, staff, and site, which could mean some nice updates and happier staff. :3

I would love to discuss this idea and add other peoples' thoughts onto it. There could even be something like different points per game and different "prizes" need different game points or something. This just seemed like a nice idea that might not only get rid of some boredom between trading, but also bring in some new members to the site. o3o

Games have been suggested before, but turned down;

We'd definitely add a game if it was fun enough that people wanted to play it without there being a credit reward :). However, we don't really have any game development skills in the team at the moment. Perhaps later.
