Perhaps do what some petsites do for bank pins? They have a "last changed..." date showing at all times. We could have a "last deleted..." date. I would find that more effective than just waiting for a few days because not everybody logs in every few days. In fact everyone that I know who plays this game other than myself only logs in on the first of the month with the exception to events.
