Suggestion: User(s) of the Week or Month

A idea had popped into my head;

What if CS had a User of the week or month.

The selected users wouldn't receive any award like exclusive pets or such, but simply get the recognition they deserve.

These users would be the ones dedicating themselves to helping newbies on the help thread, or helping people in general.

It's not a bad idea, but it seems like this doesn't need to be run by admin or mods, just a dedicated member(s) on the forums. ^_^ I see this is something any person could set up and run with some help rather than a suggestion for the site over all.

Otherwise, it seems like a lot of work to read through everyone's applications (as I'm sure you will need them) and I don't think the mods/admin should be bogged down with such a tremendous amount of work!

No for the same reason forums posts like this aren't allowed. While it is a nice sentiment, there will always be people who feel left out.

This. There's only so many people who are genuinely nice and help out others, once they had all been nominated it would become a big 'haha I'm user of the week cause I'm popular and your not!' thing. On another site I'm on, they have a human avatar feature, and a human avatar contest feature, where you can submit your HA and get votes based on how well dressed he/she is. Except the people who win are either rich (they bride people for votes), or popular (get votes based on everybody knowing who they are). I could see a suggestion like this turning in that direction pretty quickly.
