i definitely support this, though i am concerned about helping new members understand why they aren't getting any trades because they may not know their pets are all locked away.

It's better to not get trades rather than accidentally trading a favorite pet away in my book c:

My guess is that when looking at people who do use the "Nobody can make trade offers for these pets." setting, it's more likely for them to make those groups than trade groups--the "Nobody can make trade offers for these pets." groups probably keep getting made because of expanding their collection groups because of new hoards, new months for those of us who make groups every month, etc. while trade groups are probably pretty set once you decide how you want to sort your trade pets and probably aren't added very often aside from entire overhauls of trade group organization.

AnimalAtHeart's additional suggestion (to set our own default setting) would be good, too--some people are pretty lax about their pet collection and want to keep all groups open or WL-locked-open.

Definitely think this will be great primarily to cut down on newbies and casual players getting ninja'd or scammed on Dec 18.
