Putting this in art shops because animals/creatures or adotables doesn't seem appropriate.
Free Close Headshots
Currently Open//Closed
Cawtor says hi c:<
Anyway, yea, free close headshots. I've been in the mood to do these for several days, so what's the best way to deal with it? DRAW IT UNTIL MY BRAIN SCREAMS NO :'D
So yea, I probably won't do this very many times, just wanna offer the option while it's in my brain.
Rules:
- Do not post an order when this is closed (you may mark)
- You must provide a ref of a character that exists and is owned by you
- Since this is a close-up shot, the character can be any species including (but not limited to) anthro (yes, for the first time ever, I'm allowing anthro), human, humanoid, and feral. I could try mechs, but no guarantee.
- I will quote the orders that I choose to do. I will only be doing three (3) per opening.
- I am not giving myself a time limit, so I may quote your order and then let it sit for a month; I apologize if that happens, but these will be done based on my mood, otherwise they may be done sloppily. Be patient.
- Most of these will be fully lined, colored, shaded, and highlighted (so, basically high-quality art, just really close up on the face/head) and come with a simple background; depending on the complexity of the character, there may be some that are flat color or have simple shading
Tips:
- I will most likely gravitate towards more simplistic and/or darker designs
- Fluffy hair and fur is so hard for me to draw so I may avoid characters with something along those lines (there are acceptions though)
- If you have a character with armor or weapons, I may include those items in the headshot for fun (I like drawing weapons)
- Characters that don't smile often or have a dark and/or mysterious past may pique my interest more than happy-go-lucky characters (but there are definitely acceptions sometimes)
TOS:
- Credit my Toyhou.se @gardog or my CS account if posted offsite
- These are free, therefore be aware of 'added art' rules that a lot of artists have (this does not count as 'added art' as you are not paying for it)
Fill out this form to order:
Slots:
1) Kyrin Malfoy - Revlyn - Completed
2) Rylf - Kage
3) DemonReaper - Min
4) RBFloat - Rae-Bailey
Here's a different example than the one above if you want to see another one and here's a really big and detailed Keldine eye on the bigger canvas, just in case you want to see something even closer
Happy ordering!

Tutorials

How to link/add reference pic:
---
Link (this will only work if it's online or has a designated address):
1) Right-click the pic
2) Click 'Copy image address'
3) In the reply/comment box, go to the button called 'Img' and click it next to the 'character ref' line
4) Inbetween the two brackets in the middle, paste the image address (you can do this by right-clicking and selecting 'paste' or hitting CRTL+V) and the image should appear when you hit preview or post (if it doesn't, follow the computer tutorial instead)
5) It should look like this (without the code box and with your image address where it says 'image address'):
OR
You could also post just the link by doing this:
The 'URL' button is right next to the 'Img' button and you'll have to manually add in the equals sign. You'll want to right-click the address and open it in a different browser window to make sure it works (if on mobile, check it after you post the order)
Computer (you must have the image saved to your computer or mobile device):
1) Open post reply window
2) Go to the bottom of the post window, you'll see a tab called 'options' that has a bunch of checkmarks; select the tab next to it called 'upload attachment'
3) Select 'choose file' next to 'Filename' and find your reference pic and double-click it
4) Click 'Add the file'
5) Click next to the 'Character ref' spot in the form and click 'Enter' so you go down a space (it will make the pic show up better in the form). Then go back down to the 'upload attachment' area and click 'Place inline'
You can add a 'File comment' that'll show up on the bottom of the reference pic, but you don't have to
---
How you can get hex codes (you still don't have to do this, but this is how I grab them):
---
1) Find a site that converts a picture into hex codes. I use Image Color Picker.
2) In Image Color Picker, you would need to scroll down to nearly the bottom of the page or until you get to the conversion boxes
3) Right-click your image (it must have a designated address) and click 'Copy image address'
4) Paste the image address in the box that says 'Use this box to get the HTML color code from a picture via his url'
5) Click 'Take image' and wait until your picture shows up in the box at the top of the page
6) After that, click on the most distinct color in your pic (this will be easier if your character has a color palette)
7) You'll notice a small, black box to the left of your image box. Your colors will show up there as you click them.
8) There's a 'Copy' sign that looks like two pieces of paper that'll show up if you hover next to the hex code and rgb code. We want the hex code today, so click the copy button next to the hex code. The hex code looks like a '#' sign and then six letters or numbers.
9) There should be a pop up that says that the hex code has been copied to your clipboard. If you don't get that pop-up, click the copy symbol again.
10) Paste the hex code either in a different program or next to the 'Hex codes' area in the form.
11) Keep going until you run out of palette.
If you don't have a color palette, just grab the most visible colors on your character.
I hope these tutorials help!
