Well, I use smoothing, ( 60-70 recommended ) I make a layer, when I'm done with the lines I make a layer under that, but it will be the color. You can't use the fill tool, you have to make the base color under the lines. When your done, I do this so it's easy, I use lock alpha to add on the markings/pattern/any colors that need to be put to finish the drawing!
