Edit: well... thats a bit simplistic.... first theres the calculation that an egg is actually produced. THEN once its decided whether or not they will produce, then its gets into the tricky calculations of which breed will be produced. So yes... it does matter... but also no... x.x maybe someone else can explain better.

The chances of a full out refusal (the dragons refuse to even go near each other) means that pair will never produce an egg ever. A "The dragons don't show much interest" is speculated among a few (bu no where near proven) to mean that the eggs will be far and few between on that pair. A "You attempt to breed the dragons, but no egg is produces" means they just weren't feeling particularly prolific that day, but you can try again in a week and they may give you something.

I'd suggest breeding it with an uncommon dragon. Like a nebula, bluna, or a stripe.
