Minecraft Mods!

Heyo fellow smoothians, recently I have reinstalled Minecraft on my pc after not having it for about 6 months. (Java)
I tried to install some shaders but ended up getting a ton of viruses, do any of you know any trustworthy shaders/mods I could download? And how to get them into the game? Thank you!

oh jeez, thats horrible. i just watched videos from youtube,,
i have two shaders downloaded currently, i never got any viruses. did you use a tutorial?

For some reason I did not, I just looked up some good shaders and installed one of them. It told me to install Forge or something, but I'm pretty sure that may have been one of the things that gave me a few viruses

i would recommend using optifine this time, many youtubers seem to use it, it seems to be most reliable in this case.
