Why are arguments seen as such a bad thing on this thread- and lots of other threads? I personally enjoy arguing and see it a a chance to learn and listen to other peoples' ideas and POVs. All an argument is: a claim and a counterclaim. I just think it's a bit restrictive that people can't express their innocent opinions very much because arguments are seen as such a negative thing and because so many people online are overly-sensitive now-a-days. As long as people aren't being ignorant and/or arrogant about it, I think it's just an innocent disagreement. Not telling you to change the rules or anything, I was just expressing my opinion. Feel free to reply, but I won't have anything more to say as I think I got my opinion across plenty.

@Archers, I definitely agree with the previous response. I would say your art is worth way more than that mech. Keep up the awesome work!

I agree completely. I don't think there's a problem with any thread mods specifically, this is just a rule that's in place for most threads because it's a rule for the site in general, like how most threads limit cursing even if the owner/thread mods don't have a problem with it. When I limit it on my roleplays it's just so the thread doesn't get locked rather than a personal hatred for arguments. (Not saying that you were implying that the thread mods were unnecessarily blocking thoughtful arguments, just that it sucks that anyone has to block thoughtful arguments at all.)

I understand why it would be a problem if there were a lot of vicious, terrible arguments in every thread, but that also doesn't mean we should have to limit two people calmly sharing their ideas and reasons for having those ideas. (Not that the thread mods are bad for limiting it, because we have to do what we have to do to keep CS threads up.)
I adore calmly arguing with people because it gives both of us a chance to broaden our horizons, and if the other person has hateful ideas then maybe they'll stop and we can take a bit of hate out of the world. (Not saying the previous argument about flags was hateful, just about racists and homophobes and stuff like that. The flag argument was fine.) I would love for there to be a thread specifically for thoughtful arguing, where you can just bring up a topic and find someone with opposing views to have a calm, interesting conversation with.

To close off, it just kinda bothers me that anyone has to block this kinda stuff at all just because it might turn sour. This isn't really about the thread mods so much as it is about myself and the other people who really don't want to do this but have to to keep their thread up. I have no idea if the thread mods are doing this out of necessity or if they just want to keep things positive, and both of those are completely fine.

by the way, please don't kill me cs mods and admins, you make all rules for good reasons and i understand that this has to be done, i'm just kind of annoyed. this is just my opinion and i'm just casually mentioning it. i really don't want to be banned for this.

i'd say maybe a den or clothing beta or two, as most people aren't that picky with their longs, especially if they've got multiple. i've easily traded for a yellow long with a pink long and adding just a clothing beta or two.

What you are describing is a debate, not an argument. Debates are polite discussions involving differing opinions that both parties understand and are respectful of.
Arguments, on the other hand, are rude or impolite discussions which involve differing opinions that one or both parties do not agree with and are not respectful of.
We don't allow arguments on the thread for the same reason other threads here on the site don't allow them; they create spam and can lead to a thread getting locked. Not to mention arguments can seriously hurt peoples' feelings, and that's something we don't want here. We want everyone to feel comfortable and respected.

Now please keep all discussion related to Animal Jam from here on out. If you want to talk about something other than AJ, take it to PMs.
