what is Minutes till sunlight?
its an animal zombie apocalypse styled roleplay.

who all can join?
pretty much anyone who wishes too.

its a roleplay, so what skill level is needed?
any actually. though we do have rules against short roleplay responses under 3 sentences.

why?
i just figured the idea would be fun to use with some of my own characters, and wanted to see if anyone else was interested. its no fun roleplaying on your own :C

what else is there?
well, i created a catagory where you can discuss your characters, like if you need help with a name or personality or even color ideas. as well as a place to sell/trade/give away characters you no longer want.

i have another topic for close species roleplay. so like if you are bored and want to roleplay with your JBD or WOI, you can create a topic there.

what kind of characters are allowed?
anything that isn't human/humanoid, dragon like or anything else that isnt considered an animal.

but you can roleplay with your dog, wolf, horse, lizard, bird etc oc even if they have unnatural colors and designs and such.
The story thus far;

The darkness...pales compared to the pain. My body aches, my joints scream in such protests. Master why? Why have you left me? Why did you not take me with you? Master? Can you hear my cries?

It has been five long years, since the city was evacuated. They left us, they left all of us behind. In their panic, they left their companions behind. Those who would give our lives for them, those who were always by their sides no matter what. They abandoned us. Some of us died off before the worse of it hit. Before their illness plagued us. It seems like yesterday, things were normal, happy...peaceful.

It was summer when the first bit of news about the illness was reported. A place called Asia was the starting area of the Illness, or so they thought. Most around the states didn't pay much attention to it, why would they? To them, this illness was not only millions of miles away from them, but also was considered a fake panic illness, much like the swine flu or the bird flu. Everyone lived their lives as they typically did, with out much change or thought to the up coming dangers. God they were foolish...we all were.

It wasn't much long after the first reports when it started to spread. Taking over another area called “Russia” and eastern Asia. That's when the panic started to slowly take effect on the those in our area. Many of the people here were business folk, or those who enjoyed traveling. When they heard about the cure being tested, there was hope, but also that seemed to stop the panic. At least for a bit.

Though the talk of a cure was welcoming, it didn't stop many from rioting and looting, it didn't stop the death. Between the fights, riots and the illness, the amount of death was staggering. According to the reports, this illness was brutal when it came to its symptoms.

Reports state, that aside from the typical flue like symptoms like fevers, chills and sweats. It also induced vomiting, and bowel leaking. Those symptoms don't stop as more come on the longer the illness is in the person's symptoms. Dehydration, loss of vision and tighten of the throat are next fallowed by, seizures and breathing issues. According to what the news said, it is almost always fetal with a 10% chance of survival. The amount of time it takes to kill, can range from 3 days to two weeks.

By the time the cure was let out for the public, it was under tested, rushed and still in the experimental stages. The public cry for the cure, caused many medical facilities to try and get something out to calm the rage, riots and protests. By this point however, the illness had spread through most of the world. From Asia to Africa, from Alaska to Hawaii. The population of humans started to decrease severely, which started another panic fest. So many fled to rumored safe grounds as well as people started to turn on one another fearing that their friends, neighbors, or even their family were infected.

Those who lacked the money were forced to stay. Unable to uproot their families because of costs, they stayed behind with their companions and tried to hold on and wait for anything that could save them. Some took it upon themselves to end it before the illness got to them. so much chaos, destruction, mistrust...my kind was still so blissfully oblivious of what was going on, we only knew so much from what our leaders told us or what we over heard. Their fear and panic, we could smell and see it. It made us uneasy, so we tried to make them happy and calm. It was our job after all.

Seeing families leave their beloved companions behind was more gut ranching the anything. Watching as dogs, cats and even horses chase after cars that their leaders were in, only to have them drive faster and not stop....it made you revolted.
Things started to calm down, the cure seemed to have worked. The wave of peace rushed though the lands like a massive wave that had been held back for too long. Life returned to normal, though the population was having issues recovering form such a wide spread slaughter. But that was in the past, the feeling of the warm sun against our backs, the happy faces of our leaders, the feel of their hands down our backs or scratching that one spot that makes our legs kick was what dreams were made of. It was a shame it wouldn't last....

twenty years had gone by, things were normal. Until the news hit that those who were infected and given a vaccine were starting to have issues. Those who had vaccines and had offspring, their children have developed severe issues as well. The illness was back, and stronger then ever due to the “cure”. This time, there was no chance of a break from the death. With-in 3 years, the population dropped to a point where they would have considered themselves endangered.

However that wasn't the worse of it. Those who now had the illness turned on their beloveds, friends and even family. Tearing in to flesh with their teeth, eating their own kind, craving blood and meat. This was truly an Apocalypse, I remember hearing the words “zombie” when they describe the new symptoms.

They were not mindless, however, they had lost most of their self-control. Seeking flesh and blood, it appeared as though their original sources of meat wasn't working to calm the cravings. Seeing mothers eat their children, brothers turn on sisters, this was truly hell. Their eyes glassed over, tears streaming down their faces as they bit in to their own. Even some turned to devouring themselves in hopes to saving their families.

We feared for our lives, as well as our leaders. There was nothing we could do, no way we could stop them. It wasn't long till cities were empty, towns evacuated, only the carnage and a ghost of what was once there staying behind. We were left alone. With no one to care for, no one to hunt for. Some of us died from lack of food and water, while those of us, who were stronger fought to live. We returned to our old ways, the ways our ancestors survived.

If only the illness had stayed dead with the human race......
