Ernya is an avatar community site simillar to Gaia only less crazy. You earn gold by posting on the forums(max 30g per post) and games(max 2000g per day). It's not that hard to get items. The community is generally nice and welcoming. I'd recommend Ernya to anyone looking for an alternative.
