Happy Pets (Facebook Game)

Greetings! Happy pets is a facebook game I've been playing for quite some time, and love because of the breeding aspect as well as the fact that you get to see your pets grow and run around!

For those that don't play Happy Pets or have never heard of it:

Happy pet's is a flash Facebook game where you can collect, breed and trade different types of pets. This currently includes cats, dogs, horses, ferrets, guinea pigs, bunnies, rats, hamsters, turtles, iguanas, monkeys and wolves as well as many other animals! Some of the pets are free and only cost coins earned through feeding and caring for your pets, but many of the more interesting pets do cost Facebook credits. However, you can easily avoid having to buy FBC pets from the store for real money by trading with other players who have bought and bred those pets. These pets are called PB (purebred) and are the offspring of two identical store pets, there are also PBOS (purebred offspring) which are the result of breeding two identical PB pets. These can be traded for quite readily and are even occasionally given away for free by higher level players.

There are also many cool looking mixed pets that have been bred, available at any given time through the pet trader. The pet trader is where you find the pets your neighbors have put up for trade or for free. One of the keys to getting nice looking pets in this game is having good neighbors. Some of the things neighbors are good for are trading, gifting, blessing, social breeding and help requests. Trading and gifting are both pretty straight forward, they are exactly what they sound like. Social breeding is breeding done with one of your pets and one of your neighbors pets. You can send a request by going to a neighbors house selecting one of their pets then selecting one of yours, your neighbor then has the choice to either accept or reject your request. Breeding in general does not work 100% of the time and may need to be repeated in order to get a baby. Each pet can only be bred once a day. Once you have successfully bred two pets, a baby basket will appear and after a couple days your new pet will emerge. Blessing helps speed up this process. Each neighbor can bless a basket once and each bless takes away one hour of time until your basket grows into a pet. In order for a basket to grow otherwise or for a baby to grow into an adult your pet must be fed every so often. Pets that are starving will not die (pets on happy pets never die) but they will temporarily stop growing.

Between breeding and trading it is easy to quickly accumulate pets. Pets can be kept in one of three places; In your main house in either a room or yard, in one of the mini unlockable houses in a room or yard, or in the pet hotel. In the main house you start with one room that can hold 8 pets and unlock a new room or yard every 5 levels. Leveling in this game is pretty easy, you get experience from simply feeding and caring for your pets, as well as from cleaning and playing with neighbors pets and from buying furnishings for your house. Mini houses can be unlocked at any time through sending help requests to neighbors, 20 helps are needed to unlock each house. These houses must be maintained otherwise they will re-lock and you will need 10 helps to re-open each one. Luckily maintenance is pretty low maintenance and simply consists of feeding and caring for the pets in each room at least once per week. Hotels are useful for storing pets, these pets can't be interacted with and do not grow but your hotel can be upgraded using coins (free) to accommodate lots of pets. After you have upgraded your hotel to store more pets, there is no cost for storing or taking pets out. The hotel is a great place to store pets you intend to trade.
