Ok. I take a business clas and a website management class in my highschool so I will give you some tips.
every little detail counts. When you post help forms, make sure when you reference a part of the site to include a URL to ease access and lower user frustration.
DO NOT JUST ACCEPT ANY STAFF. make sure that the staff you want to hire or already have, make sure they have at least background knowledge on management and have experience with forum websites. You DO NOT JUST WANT ANY PERSON. because you want peoe to come back, so if they meet a staff member that knows what they are doing and is friendly they will and I am telling you WILL come back.
make sure you make the site USER FRIENDLY. be nice and not to strict as it is a startup website. Just make sure you also explain the rules in a way the users will relate to and understand. Sometimes you might need to write a bit more and exain a scenario but you want people to like the site and come back right?
look to the future. Chicken smoothies was built using custom code, and not a hosting website. You have to set a concrete goal and strive to advice it. Maybe learn a bit of PHOcoding so you can make your own unique website someday.
COMUNICATE WITH YOUR STAFF. I recomend making a site announcement thread where it is easy to access. Probably in the introductions form place. Make sure that all of your staff know about it and post any info that the staff can possible help with or improve on. And another thing, you have to make sure your staff get along, introduce yourself to them individually and bring them together. Because when this site starts up and gets around 100-150 users, they will all be a tight group, and that includes all staff. So make sure you are not distanced in interests when it comes to the user. Because we want the best for them.
