I hope you guys will respect my opinion.
When there are too many wolves they start starving. For many years now wolves have been fiercely protected. However, now there are too many of them in certain areas. Because of this, they have started killing off farmers' animals, which, by the way, us humans need to live. Though I don't agree with hunting for sport, in this case it is not so much for sport as it is out of necessity. The hungry, starving wolves spread disease, over kill the dear, and would eventually start attacking people and children out of desperation. They need to be killed off.
As humans it is in our nature not to adapt to our environment, but to make it adapt to us, or change it how we like. It is why we're the most powerful species on the planet. We have to interfere, it is in our nature, and it is how we survive. Not interfering simply wouldn't work.
You're all getting bent out of shape about wolves being killed, but what about the deer that they are killing for food? With too many wolves running around...they'll eventually kill off the deer and the elk. When those are gone, the cougars, bears, and other wolves will get hungry. They'll start looking for more food, and eventually wander into human civilizations, kill people, and get killed.
So, all I'm saying is that it's human nature to do this...and yellowstone doesn't just exist for the wolves. It's for the bears, the elk, the moose, the deer, and all of those awesome North American animals to exist. When one animal starts thriving above the others, something must be done. It'd be great if we were all just willing to accept that.
So, yeah, I know you guys just love the wolves...but it's for the wolves health that the extras are killed off. So, if you really care about the survival of the wolves, you'll be fine with this happening.
That's my opinion, and I really hope you guys can accept that.
