That is a load of baloney. The whole virus thing is fake. I don't know why everyone over-reacts about it. I feel like its HIGHLY unlikely to happen. Getting a gift, with no gift, and then a virus magically appears? Mmm, no.

I agree, the lag is not from the virus. However, if the virus is real, I think it would not affect the site. It would only affect the individual accounts. The people who have said they had received a letter from this "fman" guy claim that their sound becomes odd and their account constantly logs out. I really don't know if it's real, but it's either that or those peoples' computers are messed up.

"Viruses" (or the idea of a virus) are just little rumors made to scare others. Unless you hear it directly from someone who runs the site, then it's not true.

And if it does/did exist, I wouldn't call it a virus. More like a bad glitch. A virus heads more to something that can mess up your computer when you download it.

There's always been drama. There always will be on sites directed towards tweens and younger kids. It's to do with the age division mostly, almost every kid always wants to be the center of attention at that age. I'm not ashamed to say I was like that when I was younger and on Animal Jam. I was apart of the 2011 "rare" group. (Users like Gothheart, Wando20, Tinydog98.) Except we didn't really run Youtube channels, we were more into Blogspot.
To tell you the kind of 12 year old I was, mine was painfully sparkly and filled with neon rainbow colors.

I think "glitch" is definitely a better name for it. Also, I completely agree that Animal Jam is not as fun as it once was. Back in it's early days, it was more about having fun, playing games, meeting friends... Now one of the only thing people care about is rarity and becoming "famous" through YouTube videos. I keep meeting people who claim they are better than the other players just because they have a rare spike or because they make videos. I'm not saying everybody who has these things are bad--one of my very close friends on AJ, EternaltheWolf, was featured on one of Julian2's videos, and after about a month, she had people wanting to add her just so they could be his friend. It was pretty horrific: we couldn't go and sit in Coral Canyons without someone bugging her. It's just not the same anymore. The only reason I haven't left it is because of puddles156, trinity2929, EternaltheWolf, and PeacefulNature. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL.

I agree, thank you for pointing that out. And back in the beta there were no scammers, and no one had any reason to hack. (not like anyone now a days needs a reason, but there were no rare items back in the beta)
