Clicks are not needed for dragons to grow. I have quite a few that have 1 or no clicks at all. What's needed are views. To get views you can post them in your signature and add them to site ment to give dragons views. They're called click sites.
I use three click site for mine:
Valley Sherwood
Eggs around the world
Neglected Dragon.

There are other click site as well.

According to the Dragon Cave FAQ there is no set amount of views needed to hatch an egg. I've had eggs of the same type of dragon range in views it had before it hatched.
