Paint/Draw

Postby Epicgirl1000 » Sun May 27, 2012 4:17 pm

Hi, I love to draw and because I am working on a site I need adoptables so I am currently looking for a good paint site that is smooth, good with a mouse & keyboard, realistic painting, shading, easy to draw with a mouse. And if the site has brushes nice brushes that can make realistic things so if I were drawing a dog, first I would want to sketch it then paint it but it'll need fur so I get a brush that has a similar brush to fur.

I cannot use PhotoShop, I cannot pay right now I already bought myself a phone, broke my tablet and bought other things my other phone screen cracked because my friends dad sat on it by accident. So I am looking for a good site.

I am not quite sure if GIMP & PN [Paint Net] are good to use, I have them both but I don't know how to use gimp. I know how to use Paint.Net I have plugins for it, but I don't think it's what I am looking for thank you!

Hey,
http://pixlr.com/editor/ is a good online photoshop-type thing for free. It has pretty decent paint settings, but not such a variety of brushes. You can alter the Diameter, spacing and hardness of the brush, which does create quite a difference with blurs, dotted lines, ect. It is also rather good for altering images, with many adjustments: brightness, contrast, hues, exposure level and filters.
It has basic smudge, and blur texniques for drawing, so aslong as your not looking for something too high tech, this is quite a good option.
GIMP is good aswell but i agree it is rather hard to get to grips with, personally i prefer pixlr but one of my best friends can do AMAZING realistic people, which she does on GIMP. If you can work out GIMP, its probaby the better option, with more brishes but can be too complex.
Hope you find what you're looking for. :)

I use gimp and its good for making images transparent but i rather use PaintTool SAI because my artwork on it is actually pretty good with trackpad handeling on a mac so i suggest that here i have a example:

and i did that by colouring it on PaintTool and transfered to gimp but when it comes to colouring i suggest paintTool SAI its easy to colour properly and its easy to use.and the best part about PaintTool SAI is that it is free!

In my experience, GIMP is horrible to use if you don't use a tablet...But maybe try SumoPaint? It is for painting, no download or payment required either. :)
