Am I the only one who doesn't undertstand all the hate for the clydesdales?
I mean, aside from the very obvious point of cramming in an outdated meme in a failed attempt to be 'hip' and 'relevant', and slightly weird play action, I don't see anything particularly bad about them??

People keep arguing that it's just a big horse, but compare it to the actual horse first.
In my personal opinion, the original horses were weirdly proportioned and the running animation weirded me out. Although the play and dance were far superior in comparison to the the clydesdales, the clydesdales general standing and running animation are a huge improvement when compared to the original. They're much better proportioned too, with a head that actually looks like it belongs on the body. It looks far different to the original horse, so I don't get why everyone says it's so unoriginal.

It being the 'worst' of the recent animals is definitely an overstatement, I mean, take the cougar, sloth, and sheep for example. Sheep were overhyped with the messages in a bottle and an entire adventure dedicated to them, and in the end, many items ended up being broken on them, and many still are to this day. Sloths were a glitchy mess, and again, still kinda are. The cougar is literally just a big lynx, unlike the clydesdale, there is barely anything to differentiate it from its original counter part.

While it may not be as good as the red panda or coyote, I certainly see nothing wrong with it, and it has its own sort of charm in many ways. Maybe it's just me, as I have wanted to see a bulky animal done right for so long, and again, aside from the dabbing, it seems we finally got that.

Again, I think most the hate comes from people being understandably salty over AJ putting dabbing in the game, but I don't see why the whole animal has to be affected by one or two little flaws.

It's not just because of the dance animation. Some people just aren't a fan of big, bulky animals in AJ. The way AJHQ designs them doesn't always look the best to everyone. For example, look at the polar bear. The way they designed it, the head is too small and the legs are too big. And the lion is just kind of a disaster in itself. But there are still some people that like those animals.
Looking at it objectively, I can see why people might not like the clydesdale from a design standpoint. The head basically looks like a brick, the eyes are pretty small, the hooves are way too exaggerated to the point that most leg items don't look good on them at all.
I personally kind of like the clydesdale, it kind of reminds me of the Minecraft horses, which is one of my favorite games.
