I've gotten two of them too, but they grew today not yesterday. So maybe 2 outcomes?

Yes, the dragons that have already grown more have aurora borealis on their wings.

My guess is:
1. It’s different people than the ones who value re-releases less than true dates. (Not EVERYONE cares about dates)
2. They also just want to watch them grow.
I myself love watching 18th pets grow, it’s a nostalgia trip! (For normal pets anyway, I wasn’t around in 2008-2009)
