The snakes are from Nick's box in the IT area. It's a random chance, sometimes you'll get a pet from it instead of a token.

In the archives it says that I don't own the glitch chameleon, I have four of them though.
Is this part of the event or a mistake?

There's a full grown glitch charmeleon and a growing glitch charmeleon. You most likely have four still growing.
