iirc the past summer events had a token swap kiosk set up with one of the event NPC's near event's end, where you could exchange one kind of token for another,
is there anything like that this year that i've overlooked where we can swap crystals for the sample tokens?

As I recall, this was only available during the Jungle event cause of how many different token types there were. This year has a pretty normal amount of tokens and having swaps like that isn't something we normally have. Its usually pretty easy to get token swaps from the event swap thread if you need it.

How do I obtain the cool pets from the event?

You are going to need to be more specific about which you mean. I suggest checking the outcomes thread, it lists where everything can be found.

Where's the trade-in for the mushrooms again?

We have an outcomes thread that lists where everything is. The mushroom items come from the 2 token trade in at the cavern.

As you already said, splits are a surprise for all of us, so nobody can give you an answer here.
We'll have to wait until this one grows up =)

Rats. Sometime, just sometimes the creator throws us a bone and let some info slip. Just trying to figure out whether to trade some of my extras.

Most of the time you can go by litter size to get a pretty good guess the numbers of outcome but this litter is rather unusual since it's split between two different linearts.

Although I suspect either the ungrown hatchling or egg will split and give us a PPS.
