Missed both of the less common ponies that EVERYONE else is looking for.

2009 - Horses
2010 - Dogs
2011 - Nothing (or maybe BBWs? There are like 5 BBWs that seem to have been released on the 25th, but they're not themed or complete so it probably doesn't count)
2012 - Cats
2013 - Deer
2014 - Fennec Foxes
2015 - Bunnies
2016 - Syrian Hamsters (Rudolph is technically a dwarf hammie, not sure if that counts as two species lol)
2017 - Eastern Dragons
2018 - Lions
2019 - Nick Deer

There are so many pets that have never been used, I am very excited to see what they pick!
