What does "banner dog" mean?

It's the general term referring to the pet(s) you can only get from clicking on the banner.

There are two banner dog outcomes this year so far:

I am on #90 and neither yet! I think it is what is keeping me coming back for more and clicking the banners more consistently. Usually during these events I always forget. Now I'm like..."ooooh need to see if I get a banner dog!"...idk. I feel like there's never been more than one banner pet per event before? Am I wrong and just can't remember?

Quite the opposite - we've never had an event that had banner pets where there's only been one before^^ The lowest number we've had is two.
