The yellow macaws are lutino, not albino. Though the genes are similar, lutino is dilute (ino) on green, albino is dilute on blue.

I'm just a nerd. XD If you're familiar with horses, it's similar to the creme gene (which only works on red pigment, so on black, you get buckskin, on red you get palomino). What it actually does is remove all blue pigment but because blue+yellow=green it turns green base birds yellow instead of white like it can on blue base birds.

Except in the case of that white Scarlet. I don't know if that one is actually caused by ino but it removes red pigment rather than blue (which a lot of other species don't have).
