2018 Summer Event: Pet, Item, & Event Discussion

After lots of farming tokens and trading, I finally got all the event pets! (Except for the macaws, but since they seem like their in such high demand, I’m not even going to try) The artistes did such a great job!

I'm not saying Swiftalu didn't do a good job, I'm just upset because the adopt said "could you take these snakes off my hands/away" and I'm like these?? aren't snakes??
Tbh I am disappointed the toucans had hooves because that particular adopt creeps me out lol, but I guess they always do weird or different edits for events. I'm just hoping for an actual snake adopt at some point, because I think having huge snakes edited from the dragon lines this event would have been super cool ^-^
Oh well, though. Still fun pets from this event!

CS has always been like that. From 2008-2018: I don't think I have to tell you which animals these are clearly based off of, but that doesn't make them disappointing.



Immersive text is part of the event, and it's pretty clear what animals they're meant to represent (the snakes Swiftalu did as well as the ones above). They're not going to go "could you take these snake dragon adopts off my hands." Not to mention, there are time constraints, this is (ultimately) volunteer work for the artists, and there are so many animals in the world that they're not going to make unique lines for every single species (in events or otherwise). The toucans were a great edit IMO. Being an artist, I can definitely say that beaks can be super difficult to draw in anything except a strict side view or front view. I personally thought the more widely-recognized toucan colored one was really cute. :3

And anyway, it's kind of rude (and probably really disheartening) to the artists for users to come in and only complain about what was done or how "creepy" and "weird" it looks. If you don't like it, then you don't like it and that's fine, but...? There's no purpose in coming in and implying "you should have done this" cause it doesn't help anyone (let alone make the artist want to make more designs). Fact is, they probably will never have an actual snake adopt anyway. It would be difficult to make unique designs on them being so limited in surface area (the dwarf hamsters are probably hard enough).

Ye p certain it's a military macaw (I think great green macaw is a different name for them?)

They can be pretty vibrant and can have red tails.

Another name for the Great Green is Greater Military Macaw(so called cause they're bigger than Military Macaws)
But Great Greens and Military's are both pretty similar in colours (and range) and are easily mistaken for one another-

The great green macaw appears superficially similar to, and may easily be confused with the military macaw where their ranges overlap.

I honestly think it's a Military Macaw. None of the colors on any of them are 100% exactly the right color for the ones they seem to be based off of but it's definitely more green than yellow and the basic colors of the markings and where they're located resemble the Military Macaw to me.

Actually, the other two are very close, the third isn't just "vibrant" it's an entirely different hue.


This is about as close to fluorescent yellow as Milis get.
