Love the duck race trophies and am hoping that the actual DUCKS are items later..

I'd assume that if we get any items like this, it'll be the "random" ducks, not the ones representing staff members. The majority of them seem to be based off their own OCs/fursonas, so it doesn't seem likely that we'd get to own them as items^^

They're sorted under event tokens when you look at your items, so they appear to be tokens. There's currently no use for them though - they'll probably be used later in the event.

The Coatis are from a token trade in so they will be available the whole event! Token trade ins do not get removed, only free stuff sometimes get replaced. They come from trading in the fruits/seeds in the bungalows c:

I was so thrilled to see the birds last night!

This one in particular is my favourite of them.
I love how Lilian draws wings, and those little ears are so cute.
I do wish a little bit they were coloured completely like real toucan and parrot species, though. I always adored how Lilian does natural designs; most of my fave pets of hers are the realistic ones.
(Which is probably also why the above is my fave; it looks the closest to natural. Looks like a cross of channel-billed toucan and black-necked aracari, I love it.)

If you’re curious, I had mentioned why I went for abstract designs for these in the other thread:

Honestly I'm not a fan of the bird-horse pets. They look too fantasy-like for my taste; this one in particular looks as though it could fit right in to the space event rather than a rain forest. I would prefer if they stuck to the patterns of extant real-world birds more instead. Nothing against the artist, of course, just not my cup of tea.

I like the plushies a lot and I'm hoping to collect all of them, so I actually honestly like it more when I come in second rather than first

It's fine, I get why they wouldn't be for everyone's taste. ^^

The reason why I chose to make abstract designs instead of realistic ones is because bird species is a theme that has been used to death for monthly pets already, to the point of killing my interest on making any bird-inspired designs at all. I felt much more inspired and motivated to work on something unique instead of a theme that feels so... tired for me at this point, you know? It's mainly just a personal choice from me as an artist, and as I said it's very understandable if some people don't feel into it.

Also it doesn't help that macaws are specially a very common design choice, and as much as I love toucans, besides their bills most species have a very standard design without much pattern variety to their plumage(except for araçaris, which have quite a lot of plumage variety), and that's not something that interested me for pet designs. For me it was more refreshing to try something new for the ponies.
