This litter (set? box? idc) is just too cool! I labelled mine instead of naming them. Like Essence of Death or Liquid Wolfsbane or Dust of the Ancients. I'm a huge fan of the potion/magical pets, so these guys are so cool. I love how they kind of match the dog litter from earlier this year I think. [Edit: yes I checked, it's the May litter by Yağmur]

As for the Chameleons, I think they might be representing different styles/kinds of clowns rather than intentionally scary. Remember Halloween isn't just about being spooky, it's about the magic of disguising one's self as something else. Which was a way way to ward off bad luck or so the "spirits" couldn't catch you.

Some also treat it as a way to live out fantasies or show their inner loves or hidden talents. So someone who loves "clowning" but maybe doesn't get to do to their everyday life, might be a clown for Halloween, just to show off their humorous tumbling and shenanigans. I think they speak to the joy of the holiday, which makes them just as special as any spooky scary skeletons.

I don't think anyone was more thrilled than I that we got some real tarantulas for Halloween this year!

When I saw people pointing out the Cobalt Blue, I nosed around the thread and didn't see anyone else mentioning this guy, so I figured I'd share what I know about him!



He looks like a spot on Orange Baboon Tarantula! They are notorious for being extremely badly tempered! They are not a species that is recommended to be handled at all and have a very painful bite! People often truncate their name from Orange Baboon Tarantula to OBT instead, and due to their nature they are also called "Orange Bitey Things"!

Cobalt Blue tarantulas are also very badly tempered, so maybe we actually got "angry tarantulas" for Halloween, instead of just tarantulas in general... They may be angry but I love them! <3

the blue one is actually an M balfouri, Not a cobalt blue- cobalts do not have gold on their tibias and there are other colors as well. It is SPOT ON for a Balfouri however.


I'm digging the spiders but I wanna skreech at everyone who's calling that a cobalt lmao. I am a super serious T hobbyist and it's making me bananas

I am -way- too into this hobby. I have upwards of 20 tarantulas all different species, some very aggressive and some very rare, others not. A lot of people call every single one of my blue Ts cobalts and like no. I do have a cobalt, but they live in burrows. Keepers call them pet holes. Even when I do see her, it's usually from afar. They're aggressive and venomous. When I got her, I used a spatula to coax her out of the cup I brought her home in. She attacked it so ferociously she left venom on it and marked the plastic with her fangs.

I thought the same thing! Here are my hypotheses ~


-Traditional Whiteface Clown
These clowns wear a base of white, usually with fairly minimal accents on the face. They are also known for wearing a
white cone shaped hat. Seems like a good match!

-Mime
This one's fairly cut-and-dry, black and white, hints of red, the scarf, matches up pretty well.


- Jester
Can't think of much else that's associated with that hat.


- Joker
This one's a little flimsy, with the card suits and the ruff though, it reminded me of the joker card.


- Ringmaster
Also flimsy, with the hat and bow, and marking that sorta looks like a jacket? I went with ringmaster


- Harliquin

This one, with a multicolor diamond pattern, is more like the traditional Tristano Martinelli harlequin of Italian and French stage comedies. I would say *this* one is more likely to be the Harlequin
