Is the crime scene note folded or torn? It could also be a d at the end because based off the handwriting it reaches a similar height

New wild theory:

Princess found out Shelly was going to geekfest, but promised not to tell if Shelly got her food from the chef. Shelly is busy so asks us to get the food for her.
Then,
A) Shelly didn't want anyone to figure out she was going to geekfest so dressed up in kelp/seaweed and, when trying to leave food for the princess, scared her. Took off the disguise when the princess started raving about a monster and ran for it.
B) Shelly had nothing to do with the green monster and was just caught going to geekfest. But maybe the Chef realized we were giving the food to her, and got suspicious because such a good looking model as Shelly couldn't eat all his rich food and not gain pounds? So he was out and about trying to figure out what that was about?

Either or, where would the princess run if she thought she saw a monster? To the guard, Cuttler? Why did she wait so long to mention something?

Okay, I'm like 99.99% sure it's Squiddy now.
1. he's red.
2. he has tentacles.
3. he's acting shifty and won't accept any interviews.
4. the princess reports a "green monster" and now there's photo proof of the monster.
5. what does the monster look like? It looks like kelp. who is always near the kelp? Squiddy.
6. He has free time. What does he do when the "strong ocean current" is in the kelp forest?

Right, so Avian, Totoro and Squiddy were with the conductor right? But wasn't Squiddy alone in the sea at the time? Since she saw Panopea out diving? If she was with Avian, Totoro and the conductor, why couldn't the other three confirm the time Squiddy saw Panopea?

This is my take on it. Squiddy is pretty shifty, and can't back herself up.

As for the green monster, it's probably a disguise. That's what I think. So it would have to be someone who doesn't fit in. So probably someone who's on holiday there?
