The princess claimed to have seen a "green monster."

What's green?

The curtain to the stage.
New theory of mine: the princess just went to see the pretty instruments because she woke up, was bored, and the king/queen were asleep. She stepped on the curtain, it fell on her, and in her tired state she thought she was being attacked and fled.

The curtain broke the instruments. No one is guilty.

wouldn't the fallen curtain be a piece of evidence though? i dont think it's been mentioned, although i like that theory.

What if someone else noticed that the princess caused the mess? Then, not wanting her to get in trouble, they put the curtain back up. In this case, my bet would be on Cuttler (and this elaborate mess is to keep the princess from getting bad press) or more likely, it's a friend that she made. Could the shadowy figure in the picture be one of the leafy sea dragons we win from the races?

Its also possible she just never knocked over the curtain to begin with. She may have just gotten tangled up, and once she broke through the curtains she fled

The color red can appear to be green once you get to a certain depth below the surface of the ocean.

I personally think it was squiddy, there is a large amount of evidence that it was him.

That feels like a stretch to me, I feel like if she were color blind, I think someone would have mentioned it.

Okay, I'm like 99.99% sure it's Squiddy now.
1. he's red.
2. he has tentacles.
3. he's acting shifty and won't accept any interviews.
4. the princess reports a "green monster" and now there's photo proof of the monster.
5. what does the monster look like? It looks like kelp. who is always near the kelp? Squiddy.
6. He has free time. What does he do when the "strong ocean current" is in the kelp forest?

any other theories on the green monster though?

Right, so Avian, Totoro and Squiddy were with the conductor right? But wasn't Squiddy alone in the sea at the time? Since she saw Panopea out diving? If she was with Avian, Totoro and the conductor, why couldn't the other three confirm the time Squiddy saw Panopea?

This is my take on it. Squiddy is pretty shifty, and can't back herself up.

As for the green monster, it's probably a disguise. That's what I think. So it would have to be someone who doesn't fit in. So probably someone who's on holiday there?

also, i think it was squiddy, now. my theory is that he covered himself in seaweed and then destroyed the instruments. the princess ran into him, and then he swam away. maybe he had good intentions and needed items to pull folks out of the kelp forest, though?

Yeah, that's what I was going with too. I think it was Squiddy, disguised with kelp and shells. I don't know motive, but the fact that he's avoiding questioning and how his face changed is a little suspect. Also the tentacle prints, as well as the flash of red?

I don't see any outline of a squid? It looks more like a leg with coral behind it if anything

I'd also like to argue (against my OWN original comment haha) that red-green colorblindness is much rarer in females. XD

I see it!! Thinking it's Squiddy. Might not be his fault tho. Maybe he got caught in the seaweed and was looking for help? Didn't MEAN to scare anyone!!

Or it's that one staff member that got lost in the kelp-forest and they're coming back after the kelp took over their body. They did scream: "KELP ME!!"
