If you adopt a bunch of pets and end up adopting the same one over and over again.. will it lower the rarity?

Hello! I had a question - I heard of pets called "off account" pets - How many "off account pets" will you be able to get? *(I know the adoption limit for normal account is 3)

there is no limit for 12/18 off account pets!
I've adopted 50+ in the past trying to get certain ones.

You can adopt as many off-account pets as you want, since you can't actually do anything with them and they're not counted in rarity calculations. Last year I adopted like 50 because I was bored c:

i'm pretty sure there is no limit on how many you can adopt since there is no actual new pets added into the game or on an account. c:
